Rhınoplasty (Nose Job)
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure in plastic surgery that is used for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes. The aims of rhinoplasty can be to address a bump on the bridge of the nose (dorsal hump), reduce the width of the nose, elevate the tip and reduce the size of the tip depending on what the individual patient wants to achieve.
The outcome of the rhinoplasty procedure depends on many factors, these include the size of the nose, any previous surgery the patient may have had, the characteristics of the skin and the patient’s age.
During surgery, the shape of the nose is altered by a combination of cartilage excision, reshaping with sutures or the addition of grafts to give strength and shape.
Most patients go home the same day and return to the office 7 days after the operation for cast and internal splint removal.
The majority of patients see immediate results as soon as the cast is removed. However, it can take up to 18 months to see the final result with the refinement and definition.
