In a septorhinoplasty both the external shape of the nose is changed as well as surgery to fix a crooked septum. A crooked septum can obstruct the nasal airway and lead to nasal congestion or difficulty breathing through either nostril.
In a rhinoplasty, no surgery to the septum is performed.
