How Long Does It Take To See Results From A Nose Job?
Plastic surgery of the nose is called rhinoplasty. Many patients wish to know how long does it take to see the results. This very much depends on the changes that are being made to the nose during the operation and the amount of post-operative swelling.
In patients who have a large, prominent bump on the bridge, or a large droopy tip, the changes are seen immediately after the cast and dressings are removed at one week.
In those patients who are looking to achieve a very subtle change in the appearance of the nose they may have to wait weeks to months to see those changes. This is because the post-operative swelling may mask the changes.
In most patients the approximately 60-70% of the swelling has resolved by 6 weeks after surgery. However, it may take anywhere from 18 months to 2 years until the final result reveals Itself.
What Happens At 3 Months Post Op Rhinoplasty?
At 3 months after a nose job, the majority of the swelling has subsided. However, there were still be some swelling which may cause issues.
There may be swelling of the lining of the nose (mucosa). This will result in a narrower airway and therefore difficulty breathing.
The swelling on the outside of the nose may be asymmetrical, this means there may be more swelling on one side compared to the other.
Finally, there will still be some swelling on the tip of the nose. This means that the tip will lack definition.
