A protective bandage is worn around the head for the first few days to support the new position of the ears and protect them from infection. Pain and swelling are normal but can be managed with prescribed medications. Parents should ensure their child avoids strenuous activities or situations where the ears could be accidentally bumped for a few weeks following surgery.

Most children experience a significant improvement in their quality of life after otoplasty. They often feel more comfortable and confident in social situations, helping them to integrate better with their peers. However, it’s essential for parents to manage expectations and understand that while the surgery can provide remarkable results, it may not achieve perfect symmetry or complete satisfaction in every case.
