A nose job or rhinoplasty is a popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedure which can improve the shape and function of the nose.
It can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Before surgery, many patients report that their friends and family do not think that they need surgery. However, after surgery these same individuals, may innocently, be critical of the post-operative result. This is ironic, since it was these same people who advised against surgery. These comments can make a patient feel disappointed with the outcome surgery.
It is important to be aware of other people comments as these can negatively impact an individual’s perception of the outcome from surgery. The main thing to consider is that most results bring about an overall improvement. A perfect result is hardly ever achieved. Having realistic expectations of surgery and seeking an improvement instead of a “perfect” nose means that you will be in a better state mentally.
